This past week were blessed to be able to go to Dayton, Ohio to attend and be a part of Aldersgate 2011. Click on the link if you want to learn more about it, but basically it is a National United Methodist Conference that focuses on Spirit-filled living.
And boy, does it fill you up!
My husband’s family has been a part of this organization/ministry/conference for years and years, and we have been able to go for the past 3 years. The worship is AMAZING!!!!
Anyway…..It took a LOOOOOONG time to get there….We thought “Oh! Ohio! Why, that’s right next door!” But actually it was over 8 hours away.
Here’s Ada in the early stages of the trip (you can tell by the smile)
She is quite animated.
So we get there and look at the room we got to stay in!!!
It was amazing! (and just as a note, this was comped to us, and not paid for by us, our family OR the conference). That is a blessing, my friends. 🙂
So, this punk came with us….
I’m referring to the big one….the little punk that is falling off of the big punk of course had to come with me.
His name is Jody. He is 18. I just want to say that this particular 18 year old, while somewhat of a punk, is actually quite an amazing kid. He is confident in who he is and is not afraid to follow God’s lead. He is like a son to us, although he already has awesome parents. 🙂
Anyway, back to the conference…it was fun but tiring. We needed naps.
Even mom had to rest a bit.
It was perfect timing for us to attend. We needed the prayers we received, and the blessings we received. We were loved by people who don’t even know us, just love what we are doing.
That was the biggest blessing of all.
